Our relationship with nature not only defines our history, it shapes our future, too. Yet beneath the surface of Iceland’s fjords, an industrial fish farming method threatens to destroy one of Europe’s last remaining wildernesses. Open net salmon farms wreak havoc on the fragile environments they’re placed in, polluting pristine ecosystems while mistreating the farmed fish and driving local salmon populations to extinction. It’s an industry at odds with Iceland’s untouched landscape, and as a growing local movement has shown, nothing replaces nature. Laxaþjóð | A Salmon Nation tells the story of a country united by its lands and waters, and the power of a community to protect the wild places and animals that helped forge its identity.

The Armstrongs - a short film documenting a South African surfing family that lives a life not many would deem conventional. Ian (46), a provider, shaper, former Big Wave World Champion and above all else, a father, along with his wife Lee (45) and their 8 children and 1 grandson redefine ‘what is normal’ and challenge the perspective of modern family values. The Armstrongs share strong bonds with each other and the ocean; making a point of placing well being, unity, love and a genuine connection with nature above financial gain and status. This is their story.

‘Get in a Good Space’ – an international tourism campaign geared to keep the Western Cape destination top of the travel consideration list by demonstrating how the region is the perfect antidote to lockdown life.
Building on from the ‘We Are Open' campaign which focused on wide open spaces, the new campaign creative beautifully demonstrates the vast and less crowded spaces waiting to be discovered in the Western Cape – a stark contrast to other popular travel destinations in Europe – by showcasing the beauty of the region and the positive feelings it evokes through the eyes of four ‘Neverending Tourists’.
Prioritising two of the Western Cape’s key travel markets, the ‘Neverending Tourists’ featured include German and Dutch expats who came to the Western Cape on holiday, fell in love with the destination, and never left. Using authentic voices to rally potential visitors, the campaign depicts these neverending tourists exploring the spaces they love most, accompanied by them explaining how living in the Cape makes them feel.

Every second breath we take is generated by life in the oceans, and it’s up to all of us to protect them. The Air We Breathe dives deep into Parley’s global mission to safeguard our planet’s blue spaces – meeting the activists, scientists, Indigenous leaders, surfers, volunteers and marine biologists dedicating their lives to protecting the seas.
Shot on location with Parley country teams and their collaborators across three continents, Season 1 sees the crew traveling to Australia, Hawaiʻi and South Africa to uncover the unique relationships between people and the ocean in each region. The short films explore not only Parley’s work intercepting marine plastic pollution, but the deeper connections the organization is forming with local and Indigenous communities – people who have secured the land and seas for millennia and ultimately hold the key to their survival.

In collaboration with Monster Children Film, Eyeforce created a Free Range Humans episode for season 2. The story follows marine biologist Loyiso Dunga on his mission to protect the kelp forests.
Loyiso answered nature’s call and has dedicated the past 10 years of his life to helping the planet breathe. He encourages us to protect our precious hidden ecosystems, urging us to educate ourselves to preserve them. Underwater kelp forests produce more than half of the oxygen in the atmosphere.

The tale of how one big wave surfer disconnected from the digital world to reconnect with
himself by spending time with one of the oldest communities in the world Frank Solomon is a professional big wave surfer, passionate environmentalist and humanitarian.
The Capetonian has lived most of his life outdoors actively living out his dreams. Hard
lockdowns due to the global pandemic forced him inside and ever more into the digital realm.
Way out of his comfort zone he – like so many others – relied on screen time for work, play,
socialisation and even sourcing food. It became his survival tool and it nearly killed his spirit.
Something had to be done...He had to regain his senses and sense of self.
To do this, Frank disconnects from all manner of screens and goes in search of ancient wisdom.
The film takes us West on a journey deep into the heart of Namibia where Frank connects with
the oldest indigenous community on earth, the San people. Frank lives with them for an
extended period of time, immersing himself in their ancient ways of life. Without modern
communication gadgets, tents or even basic necessities such as food and water, the viewer is
there for every authentic experience as he hunts, eats and lives with them.
It’s tough and hugely frustrating at times, with very stark realities and realisations, but therein lie
the lessons and ultimately, for Frank the reason why he travelled so far: The experience has
helped him regain his senses and his connection to nature... In escaping the noise of the
modern world and its multitude of screens, he learned how the San have been living for
thousands of years without leaving a footprint. He learned what it means to really be living.
